Up in the air....

... a little how I feel!

My Miss 7 is in Aladdin this weekend for which I have made the set.  I have finally risen above the mulch of paper-macheing caves and wafted through the strangely alluring odour of gold spray paint to enter a real quicky into Less Is More - Off centre.

I feel Lady Chrissie and Duchess-Diva Mandi's challenges are like therapy!

Big love to you both xx

** eek **  Just noticed a very talented Liz - who apparently has buttons for brains! - has submitted a similar (although better!) ballooning card!  Soz!  I'll just go back to my cave ... **

Happy Easter Monday!

A quick share post-Easter!

Here's one of the rabbits I made for my gorgeous girls.  I CASEd the idea from Sarah Klass' blog although similar designs are all over the web so thank you to everyone!

He's lovely isn't he xxxx

Rockets & Whales

Right now, in my house, if it doesn't move it gets adorned with acetate!  I'm LOVING the stuff!

Acetate challenge entry two (forgive me Lady LIMs, Mandi and Chris!)... my spaceship!

And a sneaky extra after enjoying my rocketship so much!

Thank you Lady LIMs for challenging this new medium!

LIMette-a-go-go!

WOW!  I've never used acetate in my card making (or anything!) before, so this week's Less Is More challenge had me...
1 - running to the shops (hmm, some excuse!)
2 - overflowing with ideas... mostly beyond me but some within my limited capability!

So, straight to it...

Now, my designs are inspired by LIMette Jo Capper-Sandon (entrant #10) who's challenge card is utter perfection.

... but I couldn't get my head around where to write the message for whomever's birthday it might be so my designs have incorporated writing panels for my ridiculous scrawl!

Firstly, and my first of two entries for the challenge, a simple use of embellishments...

colours: Old Olive, Regal Rose
embellishments: ? soz, dunno

I also made this card, which whilst in real life I truely love, as a photo it doesn't show the use of acetate.  Basically the stamp (SU Belle Toile) is on the acetate, with a masked oval for the sentiment window.  The sentiment (SU Teeny Tiny Sentiments) is then stamped on the white underlay.  In real life, it looks almost tile-like whilst creating shadows on the white underlay when in the right light.  My photography skills however, do not reflect this!!  Hence not entering it into challenge.

Second entry to follow!  Thanks for looking!

** Swooon **

I didn't get chance to photo my card-creations today - the dark evening came upon me like a tornado and I've been working with acetate so no-can-do-flashy-flash!  Instead, here's a personal share from me...

Hubbie made me a rack for my punches... I'm so happy!... 'nuff said!

It's not much (although I haven't shown you the bookshelf on the right!).... but it's all mine!

Tones of Toblerone...

yummo... This week at Just Add Ink the challenge is delightful!

The Chocolate Wrapper Colour combo!

My lush hubbie bought me a Toblerone yesterday so what better inspiration!

Two things: -

  • I'd never noticed blue on Toblerone packets before (the shadow of the wording)... although to be fair, it's never been the packet I'm interested in!
  • I think I am the only person in the world not to have bought the SU Eat Chocolate set... yet!

Card for the day...

Just a little post!  Made in-between set-building for Miss M's production of Aladdin... which is in a couple of weeks... AAAAAAAARRRRRGH!

Again, based on a card in the 08/09 SU catalogue, it's a good 'any occasion' kinda card... and a pleasant distraction from my disastrous yet fit-for-purpose sewing skills!

colours; Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzaz, Chocolate Chip
stamps; Pocket Silhouettes
other; tag punch, brads, ribbon, paper piercer

Need directions?

:oD

Cased from the SU 08/09 catalogue, I like this funky coloured card suitable for young or old!
colours; Marina Mist, Real Red, Pear Pizzazz
stamp; Party Hearty
other; dimensionals, CB embossing folder

3rd try lucky?...

So, the awesome chicks at Less is More set a challenge that that me all excited this week!  A one-layer card focusing on the sentiment - HURRAY, I thought, I've got a gazillion sentiments, this'll be easy-peasey...

* ugh * groan * sulk *

S'alot harder than I thought!  Three designs, squillions of failed attempts and more trash paper than a Big W mailout.... here are my efforts!

I'm only entering the black one but I went on a journey to get there!

Firstly, from SU's Word Play I put this together - sadly, I was thinking of someone close but faraway who is suffering at the moment and I think that stole my fizz.  I enjoyed inking the stamp up though, mixing colour and versamark to allow embossing gold Y & frame.

Secondly, taking the challenge oh-so-very literally I made this - the photo doesn't show the scoring around all four edges which subsequently frame the sentiment.

And finally, my entry!  Using the 'black magic' technique that I have only admired before but never tried, I LOVED getting my chalking pastels out for the first time in forever and creating the rainbow effect over the white ink.  Look... at least it follows the rules of the challenge!

Sweet Red Summer...

Here's a super-simple little number using the Sale-A-Bration 11 Sweet Summer stamps and my current penchant for crumb cake and red!  The sketch layout is from a class with Uber-Sue  :o)

This was intended as a LIM week 9 entry but... nah!  Too much going on in it, I think.

On second thoughts...

Maybe I will enter this into Less Is More after all...

I just like this card!  I feel it'll be like sending a little bit of love through the mail... for absolutely no reason... and that is a nice thing to do xxxx

A touch of red...

Here's my entry for the Less Is More challenge this week - A Touch Of Red.

Now... I lost my mojo on this one.  I made a couple of other cards (will post later) but... I dunno!

Bliss...

Look at this utterly beautiful and totally blatent CASE from Patrice @ Spring Blossom Musings... I often wonder how people come up with such simple beauty - I am completely in love with this card and plan, like Patrice, to make a few in different shades / colour combos.

It certainly is, in my mind, crafty bliss!

PS - must work on my photography!
