knickers....

I have been desperate to use this Our Craft Lounge stamp set (the entire set is just scrumptious, with their lovely little old lady character!).  The Less Is More challenge this week really had me struggling so I challenged MYSELF to make another entry!  Sometimes, simple and easy is troublesome and hard!

Oooh aaargh me hearty....

A Less Is More entry for this week's sketch.  I found it WAY harder than I'd imagined but this turned out ok!

For Great Auntie Nicki...

Lovely Great Aunt Nicki always makes the most beautiful cards using pressed flowers - a technique so beautifully suited to the tiny garden flowers of England - pansies, freesias, lavender and primrose to name a few.

So with Great Aunt's birthday on the horizon I remembered a technique from Sue Dean using the butterfly punch and water colours and I CASEd a layout from Kerry 'Pickle'.

Quite pretty.  Quite happy.

Cardstock: Whisper White, Real Red, watercolour paper, Old Olive
Ink: Real Real, Certainly Celery
Other: Basic Grey brad, SU bird punch

bhaaaa!

oh me oh my oh me oh my!

Challenges rock!  :oD  I am utterly stoked that my Red Rockstar card below has been picked as a Less Is More showcase card!  Whoop whoop!

Means I get to add a gorgeous badge to my sidebar and start to feel like I'm one of 'those' supreme papercrafters!  ha ha ha!

Little things.  Big love x

oo, oo, oo

12 hrs to go before Less Is More challenge closes!  12hrs... sounds like ages but somehow, somewhere, someway that time evaporates and turns into Sunday night (yes, two days away) and I would have failed at my aim to enter at least one challenge a week... after only two weeks!

I rant enough.

These are my 'Masculine' entries for LiM which I am also entering into Just Add Ink's challenge "Just Add Stamps" (ok, so I embossed the 2nd one but am hoping no-one will notice!) :oD

Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Real Read
Ink: Real Red, White, Versamark
Stamps: Extreme Elements, Extreme Guitarist
Other: white marker

Happy UK Mothers Day...

For the first time... ever! I am ready and prepared for Mothering Sunday in the UK (3rd April!).

Ashamedly, it's previously involved a note from my sis-in-law reminding us a few days before which then renders us helpless to the robbery of last minute flower costs!

2011 is my year!  I CASEd this basic slider design from the uber-talented Liam Pucher and adorned it with A Rose Is A Rose (which, in my mind should NEVER have been retired!).

Pretty flowers that will last forever.

And I couldn't resist...

I just had to 'throw' this one together based on Just Add Ink's colour image for their latest challenge!  I hadn't used the sizzlits button die from SU yet so it seemed like JAI were inviting me to have a go!

Cardstock: Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive
Ink: As above
Stamp: SAB So Happy For You
Other: Sizzlit die buttons, paper piercer

hmm... this could become a bit obsessive!!

OK, so my bravery has picked up this week and I'm entering not one but TWO more challenges!

Firstly, Just Add Ink has held my eye for some time, namely their fantastic colour challenges.  Then, whilst scouting the design team at JAI, the uber-talented Kez links onto another challenge at SUO... retired SU product... YIPPEE!

So I've used the colour combo with the divine retired product, A Rose Is A Rose.
Cardstock: Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, Crumb Cake, Whisper White
Ink: As above
Stamp: A Rose Is A Rose
Other: Dazzling Diamonds, two way glue pen, paper crimper

So many firsts!...

I love how this birthday card came out, especially as I did a number of things for the first time!

I spritzed, I ruffled ribbon, I masked.... ok, that's it and the masking was questionable but I'm still stoked with the result!

cardstock: Whisper White; Melon Mambo; Close to Cocoa (retired)
Ink: Close To Cocoa (retired - sob), Melon Mambo marker
Stamp: Kazazz
Other: Dazzling diamonds, Melon Mambo ribbon, spritzer tool

Swoo Dean CASE week!

Last weekend, I spent a bit (ok,a lot!) of time in my little craft space pilfering and purging ideas from other talented people... after all, that's where the best cards come from, right!

Here are a couple of cards, CASE'd from my wonderful muse, Sue Dean, whom through my own poor time management, I am missing sorely xxxx

... and you may start to tell... I have a whole packet of Ballet Blue cardstock (retired!) so may be bringing that colour into pretty much everything over the next few weeks!!

Stamps include Upsy Daisy; Medallion & En Francais; Punch Bunch (SAB)
Cardstock: Ballet Blue (!); Close To Cocoa (another poor retiree); Melon Mambo; Whisper White
Inks: Ballet Blue & Close To Cocoa (both retired); Versamark gold
Others: polka dot embossing folder, punches (various); coordinating ribbon; antique brad

Woohoo!

Here is my very first challenge entry!

I spend so much time looking at various challenge blogs and swoon over the creations that people can come up with... but am often equally 'frightened' off by the sheer talent and the detail that some of those talents can go too... so I close my browser and dream on!

BUT! I have found my perfect challenge partner in 'Less Is More' - they promote clean simple lines where larger areas of plain colour or white are welcomed.  The results are more often than not... stunning!

The latest challenge is a One Layer Card - Off The Edge; whilst my entry is not stunning I am really pleased that I have even tried!

Card: Whisper White
Stamps: Penny Black (unknown) SU (Bring On The Cake)
Ink: StayzOn black; SU marker pens

Have a blast! ...

A simple 'boy' card for a birthday this weekend.  I just don't know what I did before owning 'Extreme Elements'!
